Prices through the Roof!! But we will still buy it!!!

Looking at the crowd thronging all the jewelery shops en route to my jogging park, i cannot help but think of the faith that people have in certain functions and auspicious days.. Inspite of the soaring gold prices, people stopped at each gold shop to purchase gold on this auspicious akshaya tritaya.. You wont be able to see this anywhere else but in India.. We attach more importance to the auspiciousness than to the price of the commodity..

The demand for Gold in fact will again increase the prices further.. Already the debt crisis in the European area and the falling oil prices have made people to invest in gold making the commodity even dearer.. In the name of faith you can pull off anything.. This shows the seriousness with which people approach life, the Indian way..

Thinking of this, makes me wonder how different can India become if the same commitment is shown in demanding the basic amenities of life.. asking for a more responsible government that would do away with the subsidies in a phased manner that could only improve the lives of everyone in the long run.. All it needs is a commitment from all the people, dedication to bring out the best in them irrespective of however the conditions maybe..
